Have you ever been in a trance state?

The hypnotic trance induced by a therapist is a unique state. However, we all have experienced trance states. For example,

• Have you driven by a known road without remembering part of the journey?

• Have you been so immersed in a movie, television show, or a hobby that you lost track of time?

• Have you been about to sleep and felt you needed a special effort to move?

• Have you meditated deeply?

If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, you’ve been in a trance state. It is a normal state in our lives. When you are in trance, your subconscious is accessible. This increases your creativity (ideal for artists) and provides access to knowledge and experiences that are not often available to your conscious mind.

Have you ever forgotten someone’s name, or the name of a song or an actor, just to remember it when you were not thinking about it? That information is stored in your subconscious, and when you stop trying to remember consciously, your subconscious answers the question for you.

The subconscious mind and hypnosis

Your subconscious is a storehouse of information, experiences and emotions. It also controls many of your automatic body functions. In fact, while we tend to think that it is our conscious mind that directs our life, the truth is that much of our behavior is determined by our subconscious.

What happens when the conscious and subconscious mind are not aligned? The subconscious always wins

Do you want a proof? Have you, or someone you know, done something knowing that you would later regret it? Have you done something that was not good for you or for others? Or Something you could not force you to do, even though it might have been easy? For example, have you had problems with:

• Excess weight

• Poor eating habits and nutrition

• Lack of exercise

• Sleep

• Smoking

• Anxiety

• Relationships

• Fear of flying or public speaking

• Set limits and say “no”

The truth is that the ability of our conscious mind to change our behavior is more limited than we would like it to be. If you’re like most people, in February you will no longer remember your New Year’s resolutions, you know, “I’ll quit smoking”, “I’ll go on a diet…”  Even though your conscious mind believes that by pursuing these goals, your life will improve.

When people lack “willpower,” most of the time what really happens is that the subconscious mind is the boss in this situation.

Do you want to do something or stop doing something? . . but you can not.

The decision and behaviors are not rational or conscious, and they don’t even serve you. In these cases the emotions, motivations and painful past experiences stored in your subconscious are sabotaging you.

Hypnosis is the key that unlocks the door of your unconscious mind to align it with the conscious mind and make decisions in your life more fully and effectively.
